Frans Boenders about the work of Guy De Jaegher Frans Boenders essay about Guy De Jaegher

Saved Beauty

Geredde schoonheid / Saved Beauty reads the title of a lovely poetic and artistic essay, written by Frans Boenders*.

Fine painter Guy De Jaegher displays in it a selection from his technically almost perfect oeuvre, which breathes a new artistic live into a centuries-old genre.

In ancient Egypt and Greek-Roman civilisation these arts already existed; but not before the Golden Age of our Low Countries, they achieved an absolute height.
De Jaegher has trained himself for years on end in the art of Still Life.

Frans Boenders explains why this is the case and how the skills and art of Guy De Jaegher saves and enliven eternal beauty.
Anyone caring about painting will find this booklet really indispensable.
